The Baly family has been at work at Château Coutet for forty years. A good opportunity to celebrate the progress made, the anniversary was marked by critical acclaim: Château Coutet 2014 was ranked third in the Top 100 World Wines published by Wine Spectator, an achievement which has spurred the team at the estate on to even greater things.
Château Coutet, a Classified First Growth, is a flagship of the Barsac appellation. After a few years in the bottle, it develops spice and tropical and candied fruit notes, in delicate harmony.

Medium lemon-gold coloured, the 2010 Coutet is relatively evolved, revealing honey nut, ginger ale and baked peaches scents with touches of straw, fresh figs, quince paste and nutmeg. Loads of nutty nuances accenting the dried fruits, finishing deliciously spicy.

"The 2010 Chateau Coutet has 154-gms/litre residual sugar, one of the highest in Sauternes/Barsac. It is endowed with a delightful bouquet of freshly sliced mango, Tropicana and a touch of honey, with good definition and minerality. The palate is medium-bodied with very impressive balance and poise, and is slightly viscous in the mouth, with almond, lemon curd and a touch of orange peel. The finish is composed and long."
