For over 210 years the Henriot family has remained independent, producing World Class Champagne increasingly recognised by wine lovers as a benchmark of quality. It was in 1880 when Marie Marguet married Paul Henriot and brought with her some of the best Chardonnay plots on the Côte des Blancs that the future was determined. Today Champagne Henriot still holds these plots, an exceptionally high proportion of Premier
and Grand Crus. Chardonnay is the essence in their blend. 36 months on lees for the NV and 5 to 6 years on the lees for vintage means that Henriot’s style is generous, with brioche tones floating on the infamous chalky core.

Tasting Notes

A cool, pure and elegant nose combines plenty of yeast and brioche nuances with those of citrus, floral, quinine and green apple. The addition of the reserve wines is immediately evident as there is excellent complexity to the beautifully textured and refined medium weight flavours that are supported with a relatively refined and firm mousse on the decidedly dry but not really austere finale. This is really lovely stuff and a wine that could easily be enjoyed now or held for another 3 to 5 years first. Excellent.

Press Review

An addition to the range, the MV Cuvee 38 is a real knock-out. The Cuvee 38 is a perpetual reserve of the house's best Chardonnay from the Grand Cru villages of Mesnil-sur-Oger, Chouilly, Avize and Oger. Lifted and precise, with the cut of a jewel, the Cuvee 38 impresses with its energy and tension. Lemon oil and a host of citrus-inflected notes appear first, followed by white pepper, mint and floral notes. This is one of the most understated, subtle and finessed Champagnes I have ever tasted from Henriot. I am actually surprised by how reticent and fresh the Cuve e38 is. Tasted again two days after I first opened the magnum, the Cuvee 38 remains bright, focused and wonderfully energetic.
