Beaujolais displaying the individuality that can only come from a good single grower, is the exception rather than the rule. Lucien and Claude Lardy, based in the village of Fleurie, own 12.5 hectares of very old, carefully tended vines, divided between the cru villages of Fleurie, Morgon & Moulin á Vent. Instead of selling their grapes to a negociant, they bottle all of their production themselves and are justifiably proud of their award winning wines which range from light, floral and easy drinking to more powerful, complex wines.

Press Review

''Slightly savoury aromas lead into pure redcurrants and raspberries with a granite edge and some florals. There's a weight to this that is pleasing to the palate where perfumed red fruits lead forth, upheld by salivating acidity. This is a refined expression with a fine combination of tannins and red fruits. Pair it with game birds, other roasted poultry and cured meats.
