About This Wine...
100% Mencia, from 60 year old vines, with 12 months in oak. Black fruits with spicy notes and lovely smoky/toasty aromas. This wine has not been filtered and the winemaker recommends decanting before serving.
Ancestral vine-growing methods have been embraced, such as pruning in winter, ploughing, manual canopy management to control yields and soil management. No weedkillers are used; nor are systemic products sprayed which may affect the biological balance of the vineyard. Instead, environmentally-friendly viticultural methods are preferred. The aim for each vineyard is to maintain balanced yields, in order to produce wines that are more complex and expressive and reflect more clearly the soils in which they are grown.
